WHY CHOOSE DR. CUMMINGS?

Dr. Cummings graduated Magna cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in December, 1982. He practiced in his native Wisconsin for 3 years, and has been practicing in Yuma, Arizona since June, 1986.

He is a hands-on adjuster, meaning he uses his hands to locate and correct the malfunctioning joints (subluxations). He uses a special table with drop pieces for pelvis and lumbar spine adjustments to help minimize the discomfort that can be felt in patients who are in much pain. He does not use the old "lumbar roll" in which you lay on your side and are twisted sharply. He prefers to use finesse rather than high force to accomplish his goals. The only machine used in the office is a hand-held massager. All other work is done with his hands, including some limited muscle work.

Dr. Cummings does not believe in "cookbook" chiropractic. Every patient is unique. Even the same patient may be different from visit-to-visit and from episode-to-episode. He does not automatically set you up for multiple visits over a long period of time. Future scheduling is based on an individual's response, not a preconceived formula.

While technology continues to grow at a furious pace, it is my personal opinion that in the realm of chiropractic care, human skill is far more important and more reliable than the technology available today. At Cummings Chiropractic, we are high skill and low tech. We have found that low tech is also more cost effective for the patient (who is not only the one being treated, but also the one paying the bill!) I have spent 25+ years developing and refining those skills needed to perform my job and gaining experience from every case that I treat. In any profession, experience and skill are hard to beat, no matter what technological changes occur.

My wife Maggie began working with me as my office manager in 1989, taking care of the front office operations. This is a true "Mom & Pop" operation. If faulty decisions are made regarding anything in the office, it affects US directly, not an employer. My reputation and honor are important to me, and I try to run my practice accordingly. We also try to use some humor in our day-to-day operation. I take what I do very seriously; I just don't act like it. To paraphrase Reader's Digest, laughter is pretty good medicine. And overdoses are rare!
